We've done it again - we've just frozen Dartford's Tax for 2026/27
In February, Dartford's Councillors met to agree this year's budget - we hoped to have the support of all members.
Despite the Labour Government cutting the council's funding, we were able to produce a balanced budget.
But we were bitterly disappointed to see Labour try to vote down our plan to freeze council tax. Fortunately, they were unsuccessful!
Across Kent, we have the lowest tax rate of any borough or district.
Elsewhere...
We've seen Labour-run Medway wack up their tax a full 5%!
At Reform-run Kent, they've broken their promise to lower council tax, and have u-turned to increase it by 3.99%!
We're extremely grateful to the residents of Dartford for their support, and thankful to Councillors of other parties who put party politics aside, and provided their support for the council's budget today.
